  1. If I’m off carbs for a while, these would work in a lettuce wrap, right? I’ve never made it before, but I think my family would love it and I’m always on the lookout for new things to make for my family that can be easily adapted for different levels of carb consumption.

    1. Yep, absolutely! Have you ever made cauliflower rice? I ate this been on top of that the other day and it was awesome and really filling 🙂

  2. I am loving this flashback Friday concept! I’ve been a long time reader of your blog, but never realized how many great recipes I missed. Just put this in my crockpot for dinner tonight and am so excited to try it. My very pregnant self has been craving this since I read your post on Friday!

  3. I love that recipe! I have made it and shared it often. I always use the sauce for dipping like a french dip sandwich, and the leftovers I use to make a shepherd’s pie.

  4. This recipe is a keeper! Made it for the first time over the weekend and the family loved it – both the guy who’s afraid of green things and the girl who has a very low tolerance for spice. And it was SO EASY!

Turned the leftovers into tacquitos tonight, just by adding cheese. The family raved. I think they think I’m a genius – and I let ’em think it – I didn’t tell them that was a suggestion you guys gave in the original recipe.

  5. I made this last week for my husband and we loved it! I used a little under a 3lb roast and used some yummy toasted hoagie rolls. It fed us five generous portions. We layered our buns with meat, mushrooms, extra peppers, and havarti cheese. The secret though was adding cream cheese to the sandwich. We toasted them in the toaster oven until the cheese and cream cheese were melty. It was amazing!

  6. So I went online to look for this recipe, and there it was on the front page! I made it yesterday and it was amazing. I couldn’t stop eating it!

  7. These are amazing. I even toasted the buns at work and heated the leftovers. Topped it off with sliced provolone. So good day two.
