Do you ever have those days where you feel like the universe is conspiring against you? Getting today’s post ready was painful and it was not happening. So…change of plans.
If you’ve just joined us in the last few months, about 2 years ago, we wrote a book.
And people liked it! Like…it became a national bestseller! So we wrote another one…
And that one became a national bestseller. Which was awesome.
Some other awesome things about our books?
-There is a picture for every recipe.
-It has a spiral binding on the inside so you can lay it flat while you’re cooking, but the spine is printed with the title, so you can find it when you need to.
-It has this adorable bookmark with a conversion chart on it.-Both books have a “rollover index” where you can look up recipes by ingredient. So if you buy a whole quart of buttermilk or a bunch of cilantro and you’re looking for a way to use them up, we’re your girls.
So since things were not going my way today, I’m having a bowl of ice cream and giving away 3 books to 3 lucky friends!
Here’s the deal:
-To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite season, holiday, or tradition.
-The giveaway runs from today, 3/6/13 until 3/13/13.
-We’ll pick 3 winners and notify them via the email address they use to enter the giveaway. Be sure to use an email address you check often and not the email address you use when you order something from Bath & Body Works because you know you’re going to get 10 advertisement emails a day.
-The winners will get to choose either Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen or Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites.
–The winner must respond within 48 hours of when we send the notification email. If we don’t hear from you, we will select another winner.
-If you want to forgo the whole contest thing, you can purchase the books from Amazon, Deseret Book, Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and many other bookstores. If you are unable to find it, any bookstore should be happy to order it for you.
Ready? Set? Go! I’m gonna go eat some ice cream and lick my sad corrupted memory card wounds…
I love Christmas. Just the feeling of family and warmth and giving…plus all the yummy food!
I love spring….the snow and cold weather are done and everything is starting to turn green again. A time for rebirth!!
Right now, I can’t wait for spring. Come August, I’ll be counting down to fall!!!
My favorite season is Winter, although to be honest, living in Miami, our Winter is more like Summer in other parts of the country.
It would be a toss up between spring and fall – I love watching all of the little green buds pop up out of the dead-looking ground and turn into lovely flowers. I also love the fall/autumn time, but not so much where I live now in CA because it doesn’t really have the same feel as when I lived in the Midwest – I loved watching the trees change color – a whole forest full of reds, yellows and oranges. Crunching piles of leaves under your feet and having a real leaf pile bonfire!
My favorite season, holiday, or tradition? While of course the holy holidays of Christmas and Easter are precious, not only for the religious and faith significance, but also for the family reconnection, my favorite time is actually Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving to me embodies it all: faith, family, AND food! And it does so without you having to kill yourself with shopping for presents and sending cards! And did I mention, it has food! It’s PERFECT! Plus, there’s Pumpkin Pie.
Thanks for asking! 🙂
My favorite season is definitely spring!
My favorite season is Fall and my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. Love having family together but no pressure of holiday like there is at Christmas.
Almost no one chooses winter. So, I’ll choose it because of the beauty of a snowfall. If I can just sit and watch at least one snowfall I can call it up for a good memory in the hot, hot summer.
I have your first book and love it.
“Blue skies, falling on me.” I love the months of spring that quickly turn into summer. I love waking up to blue skies. It makes me happy.
I get excited every spring with thoughts of a garden. I get just as excited when all the fruit ripen in late summer and I get to start canning.
I love St. Joseph’s Day, which falls on March 19 this year. My great grandmother and her 6 daughters (my Grandmother) would set up a St. Joseph’s altar in her home in New Orleans. They would bake and cook (for months) to celebrate the patron Saint of workers and families. Th whole of our big Italian family would come over on feast day to pray, visit and eat spaghetti with breadcrumbs. While we are not Catholic, my Mother and I carry on the tradition together by going to a local Catholic church, to celebrate together and remember my Grandmother and our Italian heritage. (and to get a fava bean for our wallets) 🙂
Favorites are spring & fall 🙂
My favorite season is spring and I am so ready for it! 🙂
Favorite holiday – hands down Thanksgiving. It is all about my two favorite things in the world Family and Food!
Favorite season – summer. Ahh, the warm weather. so glad that season is fast approaching. Be gone winter!
Thanks for the chance at your cookbook. Fingers crossed!
I love Fall. I love Christmas. I LOVE birthday parties with the whole family!!
My favorite seasons are spring and fall. Love them!
Favorite season is fall. Love the leaves changing colors, warm sweaters and yummy comfort food.
Thanksgiving. It is still all about family and good food, but you don’t have to worry about a gift.
Thanks for the opportunity to win. Rather than a favorite season I will say I enjoy warm weather. I appreciate the cold of winter and a few snow flakes here and there are fine but I like to be warm and in sandals!
My favorite season is actually Spring – I love seeing everything leaf out, bloom and come to life vs. the drab grey of winter. And it’s the one time of year it’s nice to be outside here. 🙂
My favorite holiday (post kids) is Halloween. So many treats to make and share, so little time! 🙂
Christmas is my favorite holiday but autumn is my favorite season.
My favorite season is the Fall. Love the fresh apples & harvest time. Picking apples every fall with my daugthers, then pumpkin Festivals. Apples were always our favorite, and with my older daughter, it was her 1st real food she liked. I made her a little Family Cookbook for her birthday once, filled with apple recipes!
I love summer, you get to have family and friends over for backyard barbecues and games.
Definitely fall! I love the weather, the food, and the anticipation of the holidays!
I’m going to answer all three!
Season: fall– love the weather, love the clothes, love the change in food from the summer months
Holiday: Christmas! Needs no explanation.
Tradition: making and then eating Mr. Bones on Halloween night.
Christmas is my favorite holiday and Spring is my favorite season!
My favorite is spring with the flowers and when you can first smell it – the grass starts to grow and it doesn’t smell like winter any more. My favorite holiday is Easter. I love getting to go to my grandmother’s house and have a traditional Italian brunch. The easter egg ties were great too.
I love Thanksgiving…we go camping with a big group of friends and each cook one part of the thanksgiving meal. We line up all of our tables and share in the special moment. We live in the desert so it’s the perfect time of year to eat out and it’s beautiful. 🙂
I love Christmas. The baking, the decorating, family and friends get-togethers! And it was my Mom’s favorite holiday, so when I think about Christmas, I think about her. Happy Memories!
