Do you ever have those days where you feel like the universe is conspiring against you? Getting today’s post ready was painful and it was not happening. So…change of plans.
If you’ve just joined us in the last few months, about 2 years ago, we wrote a book.
And people liked it! Like…it became a national bestseller! So we wrote another one…
And that one became a national bestseller. Which was awesome.
Some other awesome things about our books?
-There is a picture for every recipe.
-It has a spiral binding on the inside so you can lay it flat while you’re cooking, but the spine is printed with the title, so you can find it when you need to.
-It has this adorable bookmark with a conversion chart on it.-Both books have a “rollover index” where you can look up recipes by ingredient. So if you buy a whole quart of buttermilk or a bunch of cilantro and you’re looking for a way to use them up, we’re your girls.
So since things were not going my way today, I’m having a bowl of ice cream and giving away 3 books to 3 lucky friends!
Here’s the deal:
-To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite season, holiday, or tradition.
-The giveaway runs from today, 3/6/13 until 3/13/13.
-We’ll pick 3 winners and notify them via the email address they use to enter the giveaway. Be sure to use an email address you check often and not the email address you use when you order something from Bath & Body Works because you know you’re going to get 10 advertisement emails a day.
-The winners will get to choose either Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen or Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites.
–The winner must respond within 48 hours of when we send the notification email. If we don’t hear from you, we will select another winner.
-If you want to forgo the whole contest thing, you can purchase the books from Amazon, Deseret Book, Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and many other bookstores. If you are unable to find it, any bookstore should be happy to order it for you.
Ready? Set? Go! I’m gonna go eat some ice cream and lick my sad corrupted memory card wounds…
I never win anything and am pathetic because I enter every giveaway. I love Christmas and baking Christmas cookies with my husband and two sons.
My Nana started a tradition (I believe it has Dutch roots?) that if you say “RABBIT” to someone on the first day of the month, you steal their luck for the month. It’s been one of my favorite family traditions for as long as I can remember! I even got college roommates in on it.
Love love love fall!! So Halloween is my fav!!
I love July 4th! It’s summer, so everyone is relaxed, and there’s little to do to prepare for the holiday! Just put on your swim suit & relax with friends by the pool!
I love fall! Soups are my favorite and they always taste better in the fall!
Favorite holiday would definitely have to be Christmas, although I’m very grateful it only comes around one time a year!
My favorite tradition my family did while growing up was we had a contest between the boys and girls cleaning the entire house on Christmas Eve. The girls would always be upstairs, and the boys would be downstairs. We’d get it all clean in about 10 minutes, and then we’d set our stockings out and go to bed. Now that I’m a mom I REALLY understand even better why my Mom had that tradition. The kids always looked forward to it since it’s a contest, and the house was clean for Christmas-and even I appreciated that as a kid. 🙂
My favorite season is spring! I love that first sunny day when we can finally get out of hibernation and enjoy the outdoors again.
I love the Fall…oyster roasts around the grill, cold beer, spicy chili, pumpkin anything…it’s my favorite time of year here on the beautiful Outer Banks of NC!
favorite holiday is by farThanksgiving. a time not only to eat good eats from your fine blog, but more importantly to reflect on God’s faithfulness and blessings in our lives. this last year was like no other in our books as we welcomed our first baby boy into our family after 3 funerals & burials and 7 total. God has been gracious.
I love them all but Christmas is my favorite – not just they day but the whole time around it. We take the time to see people and I love to look around the room and think how blessed I am (even if I don’t always feel that way). Not to mention, Christmas lights, Christmas candy, Christmas cookies, Christmas Trees, Christmas music, Christmas presents, Time off from work, places closed for the holidays
I love spring time and easter.
my favorite season is Spring, just as the weather is getting warmer and everything is starting to bud and flower
I love the winter holidays to stay in and be cozy with my family!
I LOVE to bake! There’s just something about getting into the kitchen and creating something wonderful that makes people smile. My favorite tradition has to be baking with my 4 year old daughter. It’s a newer tradition that I hope to continue for many, many years. She gets her little apron on and stands on her stool and helps momma make yummy treats. 🙂 It’s such a great way for us to bond and I hope that when my other daughter gets older she can join in on this and us girls can have lots of fun in the kitchen!
I love Spring the best, when the grass turns green and flowers bloom! And yummy fruits start to come back into season.
Love the summer and the long warm nights with bonfires!
Fall is the best!!
I love the whole Thanksgiving to Christmas Holiday season. My favorite time of year so I try to make it as stress free as possible.
Well…I like winter mostly because I can bake all I want and make lots of soups without getting the crazy looks I get for doin’ the same in the summer..plus there’s always the excuse of “needing to warm up the house!” of course! 🙂 although my body doesn’t love the cold. I’ll have to go with fall…the days are just getting cool…the leaves are changing … perfect time to cook and bake up a storm!:)
I love the Spring. Everything is so fresh and clean. The weather is generally nice — not too hot. That being said, my favorite holiday(s) are in the Fall(ish) — the Jewish High Holidays. I love the food preparation and the family time.
Since there is no specific instruccion that says this applies only for US citizens, I’ll take my shot – So, I live in Guatemala and follow you girls for a while now. I Guatemala we only have Summer or Winter but most of the time seems like Spring, I love those rainy days that crave for hot chocolate and a piece of cake, in a comfy couch and cozy blanket.
My favorite season is the holidays with the anticipation, the feeling and the music.
My favorite season is summer! I love being outside, soaking up the sun, having bbq’s and big family parties with lots of food!
Spring, when everything is new and our Savior has risen. I love watching the birds build their nest and all the new babies running around. There is nothing like planting a little seed and watching it grow into something that can be eaten. Fall is my second best season when everything goes back into the earth and sleeps through the winter. I just love being outside and taking in everything that the Lord has given us.
My favorite season is Spring.
I love Fall! The weather is cooler but the allergies aren’t as bad as Spring 🙂
Christmas 🙂 my favorite thing about it is watching my husband get excited about the kids getting excited
I love summer! It gets really hot down here in NC so I like to eat a lot of fruit, cold salads and ice cream!
I love summer. All the outdoor activities and yummy food. Can you tell I’m done with winter?!
