Do you ever have those days where you feel like the universe is conspiring against you? Getting today’s post ready was painful and it was not happening. So…change of plans.
If you’ve just joined us in the last few months, about 2 years ago, we wrote a book.
And people liked it! Like…it became a national bestseller! So we wrote another one…
And that one became a national bestseller. Which was awesome.
Some other awesome things about our books?
-There is a picture for every recipe.
-It has a spiral binding on the inside so you can lay it flat while you’re cooking, but the spine is printed with the title, so you can find it when you need to.
-It has this adorable bookmark with a conversion chart on it.-Both books have a “rollover index” where you can look up recipes by ingredient. So if you buy a whole quart of buttermilk or a bunch of cilantro and you’re looking for a way to use them up, we’re your girls.
So since things were not going my way today, I’m having a bowl of ice cream and giving away 3 books to 3 lucky friends!
Here’s the deal:
-To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite season, holiday, or tradition.
-The giveaway runs from today, 3/6/13 until 3/13/13.
-We’ll pick 3 winners and notify them via the email address they use to enter the giveaway. Be sure to use an email address you check often and not the email address you use when you order something from Bath & Body Works because you know you’re going to get 10 advertisement emails a day.
-The winners will get to choose either Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen or Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites.
–The winner must respond within 48 hours of when we send the notification email. If we don’t hear from you, we will select another winner.
-If you want to forgo the whole contest thing, you can purchase the books from Amazon, Deseret Book, Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and many other bookstores. If you are unable to find it, any bookstore should be happy to order it for you.
Ready? Set? Go! I’m gonna go eat some ice cream and lick my sad corrupted memory card wounds…
Summer, warm, sunny, dig your toes in the sand…LOVE IT! Thank you and sorry you are having a rough day…darn ol digital storage anyhow!
Christmas by far is my favorite holiday!
Thanksgiving. No contest. A holiday all about family, friends, and food? It doesn’t get any better than that.
I love spring!! Fall would be my next pick because of all the beautiful colors. But, spring is so refreshing after the cold, harsh winter and seeing new blooms is so amazing, I just love it.
Christmas!!!!
Summer…warm evenings spent outside, family cookouts, and NO SNOW 🙂
Spring is my favorite! Love to see the fresh green foliage and flowers starting to bloom!
I have the seasons cook book, and I made the apple cream cheese bites this week. I was so thrilled when they actually looked like the picture, and tasted so great

My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because I have always loved cooking that turkey dinner for my family.
I tend to love whatever season I’m in, and I am LOVING the AZ spring right now!
I love Easter….It ushers in the season of renewal….and warmer weather…. I would L.O.V.E. to be a winner!
I love Summer! As an Oregon girl, I crave those rays of sun.
My favorite tradition is kind of a random one…but one that my husband happened to share even before we got married. My family (and his) has Asian food on Christmas Eve, and I really like it because everyone gets together to help make the food and then we all eat it and have a great time.
Ooh, how nice! I can’t help stopping to flip through the Seasons one whenever I see it in Costco. I absolutely love autumn and the end of the stifling heat. Thanks!
My favorite season is winter all the way and all the eating and cooking and baking that goes along with it!
I love holidays. My favorite holiday is Christmas and second favorite is Valentine’s Day. Any holiday that involves sugar cookies is my favorite!
Summer! Well…because I strongly dislike the cold and snow….which last forever up here!!
Summer is the best!
I love fall. It is the perfect season. Not too warm, not too cold, and beautiful.
I love the summer for fresh fruits and veggies!
Summer is by and far the greatest season of them all. I love the long nights, warm breezez, the beach, no homework and eating more since I am more active during this season that any other!
My favorite tradition is new to our family, but after three years, I call it a tradition! Since returning from Spanish-speaking LDS missions, my husband and I have celebrated Cinco de Mayo with our extended families. It’s been so fun to introduce them to the world of yummy Latin food!
I love fall for the cooler temps and beautiful colors and for the rustic, homey dishes that make the house smell wonderful!
I love Easter because it has lots of treats but not all the stress of Christmas.
My favorite season is fall! Apple picking, pumpkin carving, hayrides, bonfires, trick or treating, all the beautifully colored leaves, and apple cider. What more can I say?!
I think my favorite season would be the changing of them. I love when a new season starts. It’s new, a change and exciting. It’s similar to redecorating your house. But instead it’s every 4 months outdoors and it doesn’t cost a thing!
My husband and I both live far from our respective families. I love Christmas because we get to travel to see our loved ones! It isn’t Christmas without them.
Your cookbook looks great! I love the rolling index you described. I always buy something I only need a little bit of and usually need to find another recipe! Great idea.
My new favorite tradition is decorating the Christmas Tree for New Year’s!! We did that this year after seeing it on your blog and it was a hit with all of our kids!!
I love all seasons… so to pick one I’d have to say Spring because I’m tired of Winter and can’t wait to do things outdoors, plus I love the smell of all the blooms. Love how you are both so down to earth and “real” because we all have those days that don’t go as we plan. 🙂
Summer!! I love garden fresh food 🙂
