Do you ever have those days where you feel like the universe is conspiring against you? Getting today’s post ready was painful and it was not happening. So…change of plans.
If you’ve just joined us in the last few months, about 2 years ago, we wrote a book.
And people liked it! Like…it became a national bestseller! So we wrote another one…
And that one became a national bestseller. Which was awesome.
Some other awesome things about our books?
-There is a picture for every recipe.
-It has a spiral binding on the inside so you can lay it flat while you’re cooking, but the spine is printed with the title, so you can find it when you need to.
-It has this adorable bookmark with a conversion chart on it.-Both books have a “rollover index” where you can look up recipes by ingredient. So if you buy a whole quart of buttermilk or a bunch of cilantro and you’re looking for a way to use them up, we’re your girls.
So since things were not going my way today, I’m having a bowl of ice cream and giving away 3 books to 3 lucky friends!
Here’s the deal:
-To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite season, holiday, or tradition.
-The giveaway runs from today, 3/6/13 until 3/13/13.
-We’ll pick 3 winners and notify them via the email address they use to enter the giveaway. Be sure to use an email address you check often and not the email address you use when you order something from Bath & Body Works because you know you’re going to get 10 advertisement emails a day.
-The winners will get to choose either Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen or Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites.
–The winner must respond within 48 hours of when we send the notification email. If we don’t hear from you, we will select another winner.

Ready? Set? Go! I’m gonna go eat some ice cream and lick my sad corrupted memory card wounds…
I love the summer! WE have a huge family get together at the beach every summer and that’s the best. I brother grills carne asada, My Dad loads up the stuff in his truck and we have a fabulous time. WE all bring lots of food and it’s great conversation, fun and memories.
Favorite Season is Spring- we don’t get snowy winter out here in So-cal so it just rotates spring and summer. 🙂
My favorite season is summer…at least in Alaska. It used to be fall, but really, these days, I am all about the summer!
My favorite season is spring. New life, the trees and flowers blooming and baseball season begins;). As I get older I enjoy Thanksgiving and the time to be together and count our blessings. I also enjoy Christmas break. The hussle and bussle is over and it’s family time.
We have a strong family tradition that we ALL spend the holidays together. We all live realitivly close but don’t keep in touch as often as we should. So we work real hard to choose a day that all of us can spend the whole day together. jWe have so much fun & we all feel the love of our families. Love it !!!!
Easter and spring! Thanks for having a give-away 😀
I have always loved SPRING!! I love it when everything blooms. It brings a new energy to our lives and I know warm weather is just around the corner:)
WINTER is the BEST time to cook!!! Family meals, friend gifts, I’m sure this book has it all! Not too many cookbooks catch my eye but the creativity put into this book shows the heart and soul put in it. I hope I win because not only will this book be apart of my collection, it will be apart of my life!
I have always been a winter fan (I guess because I’m weird) but in recent years I enjoy the change of seasons and each one. Holiday: Christmas. Tradition: FOOD for every holiday!!!
Christmas is my favorite season and holiday. It’s full of traditions and rich with meaning.
I love summer. I hate doing dishes, so grilling is for me. Less mess and enjoying the sunshine.
My favorite season is fall! I love watching football with the family and the fact that the day after halloween starts “the holidays” for me!
I love Spring!! I need the sun and the sun needs me! I soak in the heat like a plant soaks up water and it feels so good! Our family traditions are probably very much like others’- we spring clean! Sweep out the garage from all the snow and ice melt, get the flower beds looking nice again, clean out our closets and look forward to more time outside!

My favorite is fall! The leaves are beautiful, and I love all things pumpkin!
My favorite tradition is birthdays. Not mine anymore (I hate being the center of attention), but I loved birthdays as a kid. The birthday kid would get breakfast in bed, get to choose dinner/dessert, use a special birthday plate (we didn’t do parties), and the best part of all was finding the birthday presents! They would be hidden around the house/a room, depending on how old we were. Those are some of my fondest memories from childhood and I can’t wait to continue them with my future children. 🙂
My favorite holiday is Christmas, but right now I’m so looking forward to spring…strawberries, asparagus, tulips and daffodils, longer days and sunlight…
My fav season is Fall, because here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, it is the only season where it is still warm enough to go outside in just a sweater, there are no bugs or snow and the world is alive with color. I really hope I win, because I have and love your first cookbook, but I can’t find the second one anywhere here in Canada. Our Costco doesn’t carry it and it’s not in any of our local bookstores. I was going to order it on Amazon, but hopefully I will win it instead!
My favorite holiday is Christmas but my favorite season is summer – at least this year it is. Looking forward to some sunshine!
SUMMER! Boats, sunshine and volleyball!
I love summer! I love having my kids home and not having a busy schedule. I also love all your recipes!
I’ve always loved winter!
Favorite season? Spring! The return of the sun! Favorite holiday? Halloween. I also love Christmas. Doesn’t everyone? In fact, that’s when the sun starts to make it’s return. Now, I just have to say thank you. I love your blog. You deserve all the attention that you’ve gotten. Keep up the great recipes AND comments! Love you both!
My favorite season is Spring and holiday is Christmas!! I’m excited for this giveaway!
I love the fall!! Something about the beautiful colors, being able to start wearing sweaters and other layers {but not so cold that you need a huge coat, boots, ear muffs and gloves ;)} a new start, and staying inside just a little bit more makes me so happy.
I LOVE holidays and family traditions!
One of my most favorite I grew up doing at Christmas time….and we still get together for every year is:
“Finger Food Night”
We often do it Christmas Eve but it just has to be around Christmas. For dinner, we eat only food that doesn’t require utensils (basically appetizers and desserts). We would each choose our favorite and help mom prepare it (or now, we just bring it). We’ve had egg rolls, bacon wrapped chestnuts, little smokies, potstickers, pizza pockets, little sandwiches, develed eggs, fruit and veggies with dip, wings….. It’s always hard to limit the list because we LOVE everything 🙂
Then, we pile up our plates and we get to sit around the Christmas tree all lit up. After everyone is stuffed to the limit, we sing Christmas songs around the tree while my sister plays the piano. It feels magical as do a lot of childhood traditions, right?
My favorite season is summer, but my favorite holiday is Christmas! 🙂 haha!
My favorite season is right now. I’m in Tucson and we’re in the early stages of spring… we’ve still got cooler nights and the days are sunny but in the 70’s. The birds are singing and folks are in a generally happy mood. In a month or so, we’ll start the zig-zag temps towards the 90’s-100+ but for now, it’s beautiful weather to get out without worrying about bursting into flames. 🙂
I love Thanksgiving because of all the food that I get to fix and being with family. As far as seasons go I love the Spring and the Fall.
I love all of the seasons, but I am especially looking forward to the summertime season. I can’t wait for the fresh fruits and veggies, fireworks, and pool days! 🙂
