Do you ever have those days where you feel like the universe is conspiring against you? Getting today’s post ready was painful and it was not happening. So…change of plans.
If you’ve just joined us in the last few months, about 2 years ago, we wrote a book.
And people liked it! Like…it became a national bestseller! So we wrote another one…
And that one became a national bestseller. Which was awesome.
Some other awesome things about our books?
-There is a picture for every recipe.
-It has a spiral binding on the inside so you can lay it flat while you’re cooking, but the spine is printed with the title, so you can find it when you need to.
-It has this adorable bookmark with a conversion chart on it.-Both books have a “rollover index” where you can look up recipes by ingredient. So if you buy a whole quart of buttermilk or a bunch of cilantro and you’re looking for a way to use them up, we’re your girls.
So since things were not going my way today, I’m having a bowl of ice cream and giving away 3 books to 3 lucky friends!
Here’s the deal:
-To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite season, holiday, or tradition.
-The giveaway runs from today, 3/6/13 until 3/13/13.
-We’ll pick 3 winners and notify them via the email address they use to enter the giveaway. Be sure to use an email address you check often and not the email address you use when you order something from Bath & Body Works because you know you’re going to get 10 advertisement emails a day.
-The winners will get to choose either Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen or Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites.
–The winner must respond within 48 hours of when we send the notification email. If we don’t hear from you, we will select another winner.
-If you want to forgo the whole contest thing, you can purchase the books from Amazon, Deseret Book, Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and many other bookstores. If you are unable to find it, any bookstore should be happy to order it for you.
Ready? Set? Go! I’m gonna go eat some ice cream and lick my sad corrupted memory card wounds…
Best season……..when the FARMER’S MARKET season starts!!!
Fresh, fresh and FRESH!
Creative recipes start flowing around, unusual booths pop up, and everything on the earth comes alive .
It is the season of sharing. Think about that statement. It is not Christmas and everyone is sharing plant starts, over abundance of produce and great gardening tips.
The best of the season to everyone.
Wende
I love spring ! It’s so refreshing from the cold winter and it gets you excited for summer 1!
Spring is my favorite, when things start warming up and tulips start blooming. You finally get to enjoy being outside after months of cold weather!
I LOVE spring. Just the renewal of life and the flowers and colors returning. And the weather, I don’t mind a rain storm every so often. (It is also my birthday tomorrow) and I would LOVE a book as a gift 🙂
Spring is my favorite season, I am so happy it is right around the corner!
I enjoy all seasons, there is something special about each one but summer is my favorite!
Spring!! Spring here in Georgia is filled with beautiful, bright flowers, green, green grass and blue skies! I love it!
One of our families favorite traditions involves New Years. When our boys were little, we never went out so had to come up with something special that included them. Every New Years eve we have both meat and chocolate fondue with sparkling cider. It keeps us at the table sharing stories from the past year.
I love summer! Long days and warm flip flop weather.
My favorite season is spring. I spent the majority of my life in California where the seasons never change, then moved to the south where we do experience all four seasons. Spring is wonderful with a progression of plants and trees “springing” back to life. I love living here.
My favorite holiday is Christmas. It is such a merry time full of joy.
Without a doubt my favorite season is fall. I love the crisp days and amazing red, orange, yellow, brown colors. Football, marching band, back to school, sweaters, apples & caramel!! Oh, and the return of soups and hot chocolate.
I love autumn for the beauty, focus on family, and all the deliciousness that accompanies harvest (produce is the best!)
Right now my favorite season is Summer. I love that we can wear shorts, it is warm from when we wake up until we go to sleep. I may be thinking that, however, because it is so cold and I am so sick of winter!!
I love Christmas and everything about it.
Christmas Eve is my favorite! Growing up, we never had a big dinner on Christmas Eve because we would go visit family & neighbors. We would then come home and have all kinds of finger foods to eat.
Now we have that same tradition with my family and my girls love it. They love to help make the treats that we deliver to our neighbors on Christmas Eve and then come home and help make the snacks that we are going to eat. Sometimes Santa even gets a snack or two!
Love love fall. I do love Christmas too!
I love your cookbooks, and this would be the perfect gift for my sister-in-law! Normally I would say my favorite season is Christmas, but right now it is definitely Spring–life isn’t quite so busy as at Christmas and we are enjoying the warm weather before it gets hot.
My favorite Season is Fall. I just love the comfort it brings. I am jeans and sweatshirt kind of gal.
My favorite season is spring! Actually, I love summer just as much, but the anticipation of summer throughout the spring season is simply heaven to me!
i love fall, its cooler and thats when i love to cook…
I like the more mild weather (I live in Utah and this winter is NOT my favorite!) so spring and fall are my favorite months. I really love the fun spirit of summer though. So I said 3 of the 4…is that cheating?
My favorite holiday is St. Pattie’s day. I love all the greenness of the holiday, and I feel like it welcomes the coming of spring (which I think we have been waiting long enough for) and another reason is that I am also an Irish Dancer,so I get to do lots of parades and shows with my fam cheering me on!
I love St. P day & Halloween, cant choose between the two. i love fall!
My favorite season is fall. I love fall colors and living in the hot desert, I really like the cool down.
Definitely late summer when all the fresh produce is harvested. Sweet corn on the cob, ripe fresh watermelon, and sweet juicy tomatoes eaten like an apple over the sink with a jar of salt in hand. What could be better?
One of our favorite traditions is “Testimony Cake” (its really our favorite chocolate cake recipe). We started this many years ago after a Family Night of teaching our kids that the bearing of a testimony is a “sweet thing”. Now, whenever someone shares their testimony on fast Sunday – we have “testimony cake”. ( Even our bishop loves it because we take a large piece over to him since he has helped to strengthen our testimonies.) We not only enjoy the cake, but fun in the kitchen making it together.
Starting December 1st we would unwrap a Christmas book and read it together as a family. The book opened on the 24th was always new!
I love your first book, and I love Spring and Fall equally — right now I’d say Spring is my favorite because we still have 6 inches of snow and I’m ready for grass and a garden and dirt. I’d love to see what recipes you have for Spring (and the other 3 seasons!)
I hope your day is going better. My favorite holiday is Halloween.
