Do you ever have those days where you feel like the universe is conspiring against you? Getting today’s post ready was painful and it was not happening. So…change of plans.
If you’ve just joined us in the last few months, about 2 years ago, we wrote a book.
And people liked it! Like…it became a national bestseller! So we wrote another one…
And that one became a national bestseller. Which was awesome.
Some other awesome things about our books?
-There is a picture for every recipe.
-It has a spiral binding on the inside so you can lay it flat while you’re cooking, but the spine is printed with the title, so you can find it when you need to.
-It has this adorable bookmark with a conversion chart on it.-Both books have a “rollover index” where you can look up recipes by ingredient. So if you buy a whole quart of buttermilk or a bunch of cilantro and you’re looking for a way to use them up, we’re your girls.
So since things were not going my way today, I’m having a bowl of ice cream and giving away 3 books to 3 lucky friends!
Here’s the deal:
-To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite season, holiday, or tradition.
-The giveaway runs from today, 3/6/13 until 3/13/13.
-We’ll pick 3 winners and notify them via the email address they use to enter the giveaway. Be sure to use an email address you check often and not the email address you use when you order something from Bath & Body Works because you know you’re going to get 10 advertisement emails a day.
-The winners will get to choose either Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen or Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites.
–The winner must respond within 48 hours of when we send the notification email. If we don’t hear from you, we will select another winner.
-If you want to forgo the whole contest thing, you can purchase the books from Amazon, Deseret Book, Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and many other bookstores. If you are unable to find it, any bookstore should be happy to order it for you.
Ready? Set? Go! I’m gonna go eat some ice cream and lick my sad corrupted memory card wounds…
I love the spring! My tulips and daffodils are about to pop up! I’d love to win one of your books 🙂
I really had one of those days Saturday–including scratching my own cornea just going through a bunch of papers. How can you do that?! Anyway, a favorite season? of ours is General Conference. I love that even now as my kids are beginning families of their own, they love to be home for Conference. The days always include lots of yummy food and we are fed spiritually and physically.:) Maybe our favorite food is our dad’s wonderful omelettes!
Spring is my all time favorite season. I love seeing the earth come back to life after a cold winder’s sleep! The colors of spring seem to make everything right.
I love summer because I get to spend more time with my kids
In Texas I love the spring — bluebonnets and other wildflowers are gorgeous.
My favorite holiday tradition is our Christmas book advent. We count down to the holiday by reading a Christ-centered picture book each night.
I would love to win the newest cookbook…my day hasn’t exactly been as scheduled, either, and that would be a huge pick me up! My favorite season? Christmas, for sure!
I love Autumn, Beautiful colors, Cozy sweaters, and pumpkin!
I love Thanksgiving, the camaraderie, the wonderful smells of pies, turkey, dressing, and, the turkey cupcakes I make every year that are so cute and delicious! Of course, others in the family wait for the cornbread and corn pudding. Something for everyone.
I would definitely say Summer. Even though it get’s really hot here in the tip of Tx. I just don’t like the cold. I can’t take out my son cuz he gets sick really fast. In the Summer you get to hang out and have a BBQ the nights are nice. It’s just great!!!
I love Easter! No big rush for presents, spring is in the air, and the family gathering is so special and fun!
Fall is my favorite season because I can only stand so much heat and I love the colors and the rich foods. Favorite holiday is a toss up between Thanksgiving and New Years (lots of food and parties, not much planning or stress beforehand). I love Savoring the Seasons and would love to own your first cookbook too! Thanks. 🙂
I think my favorite season has to be Spring, I just love when the little flowers start popping out of the ground when it’s really cold! It’s amazing that they survive!
My husband has his masters in Theater Costume Design…so of course Halloween is our favorite and busiest holiday! But our kids always look AMAZING!
favorite season is spring …. open windows, breeze blowing in … flowers blooming. it’s the best!
Being from AZ my favorite season is FALL when it starts getting cooler! All the soups and fall baking is fun!
Thanksmas is my favorite holiday! My family gets together for Thanksgiving weekend. We celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday and on Friday or Saturday we celebrate Christmas – the weekend we call Thanksmas!!
My favorite season, holiday and tradition is Christmas! It has everything wrapped into one. Family is together, food is good, decorations are beautiful, lots of fun things to do with people you love, and celebrating Jesus!
I love Spring; it is a gift. And new favorite tradition: Feb 1-14th Show love to someone new each day with the kids (letters/treats/emails/phone calls to grandparents, neighbors, siblings, teachers, etc)
I love spring. The weather warms up, one can be outside without a coat and Easter has the best candy!
Today I love Spring. Even though it’s raining, I feel like everything is going to start again!
I would have to say that Christmas is our favorite Season to Savor. For many reasons, one being, dad spent many US Navy deployments away from his little girl and our sweet daughter would always ask her mom to make her famous Cinnabon Rolls to comfort her little heart. It seemed the links on the paper chain were bearable when we baked up some goodness and wished we could share it with daddy. Before we knew it we were down to a weeks worth of links and dad was home to enjoy the baked goodies and we could celebrate Christmas together again. These are the most precious memories of Christmas spent together as a family.
i love spring! After a beautiful and quiet winter outside, its nice to see the spring blooms, birds chirping and planting of the garden
ll the seasons are wonderful, but Fall is the best season – The beautiful colors & the time of harvesting all ones efforts.. Which involves alot of food preparation. Thank you for the great recipes. I impatiently wait for each new post. Needless to say, sometimes I can’t wait & come in & peruse your blog. Thanks so much…
My favorite holiday is Christmas!
Love Spring when things turn green again.
My favourite holiday is St. Patrick’s Day…for our friends and family its a wonderful day of gathering just for fun…we cook obscene amounts of Irish food, go overboard on decorations…we play silly games and play Irish music and we have a giant trunk full of costume stuff…everyone looks equally silly and we just enjoy each other, take pictures and laugh a lot!
My favorite season is Christmas. It is truly the most wonderful time of the year. I love your first book but haven’t seen the second yet so I hope I win! 🙂
I love Thanksgiving and winter type food (chili, etc), but I’m really sick of winter now. Spring please come and bring me a new cookbook. 🙂
This is a tough one because my favorite season and holiday are totally different! My favorite holiday is Christmas because as my siblings have grown up we have all gone to different corners of the US (Hawaii, Texas, Washington State, Utah, and Tennesee!) and we are almost always missing someone due to deployments overseas or University Athletic meets. This is the only holiday where everyone at least skypes with eachother and makes homemade sugarplums (delicious!!) and other treats and deliver them to the elderly.
But I love summer. I love the sun more than anything in the world. And I love the beach.
