Do you ever have those days where you feel like the universe is conspiring against you? Getting today’s post ready was painful and it was not happening. So…change of plans.
If you’ve just joined us in the last few months, about 2 years ago, we wrote a book.
And people liked it! Like…it became a national bestseller! So we wrote another one…
And that one became a national bestseller. Which was awesome.
Some other awesome things about our books?
-There is a picture for every recipe.
-It has a spiral binding on the inside so you can lay it flat while you’re cooking, but the spine is printed with the title, so you can find it when you need to.
-It has this adorable bookmark with a conversion chart on it.-Both books have a “rollover index” where you can look up recipes by ingredient. So if you buy a whole quart of buttermilk or a bunch of cilantro and you’re looking for a way to use them up, we’re your girls.
So since things were not going my way today, I’m having a bowl of ice cream and giving away 3 books to 3 lucky friends!
Here’s the deal:
-To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite season, holiday, or tradition.

-The winners will get to choose either Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen or Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites.
–The winner must respond within 48 hours of when we send the notification email. If we don’t hear from you, we will select another winner.

Ready? Set? Go! I’m gonna go eat some ice cream and lick my sad corrupted memory card wounds…
My favorite season is fall. I love being able to throw an over-sized sweater on over all my clothes and free all our scarfs and jackets from storage. Last summer we took our last camping trip of the year in the autumn and it was so awesome to sit by the campfire, burn our faces and freeze our backs and then race to our sleeping bags to try and zip them up and capture the heat inside. It is definitely my favorite time of year!
I love the spring when the weather is cool with new life blooming and growing. The hope of being able to grow a garden, the fun time spent outdoors with our children and on my own running or gardening. My favorite holiday is Christmas and the warm joyful feelings of the season and love as we celebrate the Saviors birth. Also the traditions of family time together.
My favorite season has to be summer. Warm days spent on the lake, evenings eating out in the backyard al fresco style, or as my littlest one calls it eating “San Francisco style”. A nice glass of wine on a warm summer evening in the backyard connecting with my husband after a long day at work, reconnecting and watching the sunset as the long hot days cool down. Barbecuing in the yard and enjoying a simple meal of grilled meat with fresh vegetables grown in my garden. YUM! Life is slower and with the longer days time for more relaxing. Yep, summer is my favorite time of the year!
I like fall 🙂
I love summer! 😀 not only is my birthday during the summer but the perf beach weather, shorts, no school, just so much fun(: Also I’m a watermelon addict.
My favorite season is fall. It cools off enough to wear a sweater and boots – my favorite. And the smell of the outdoors – DELICIOUS!!!! Not to mention apple picking and pumpkin carving!
Soooo hard to decide, but I think I love autumn the best because I can start anticipating Christmas!!!!!
I love Spring because of the mild tempertures and fall cause it is
cooler…
I love the fall. I love fall food!
I love spring best because the sun begins to look a little brighter in the morning and evening. I already have the first book and found it at Costco about 2 years ago…. The baked beef taquitos are a huge favorite around here!
My favorite season for sure is FALL!!
My favorite season is by far FALL!!!
My favorite holiday is Christmas because we celebrate all month long with family and friends!
My favorite season has to be Christmastime. We started the tradition of making homemade sugar cookies and decorating them when I was a little girl. I am now 43. My two older brothers and I would always compete over who could decorate the most awesome cookie. From Santas, to Rudolph, to snowmen and angels…My incredible mom would spend the day baking and cutting out all the cookies for us and we would all enjoy icing them. Today, I have two boys of my own, who are 2 and 3…and they, along with my nieces who are 15, 16 and 20 (yes, I got a very late start!) continue this tradition every year. Even my dad has to decorate some cookies with us! So it has been a tradition for 40 years now…and we all still look forward to it every Christmas. I feel that cooking just brings everyone together…and I love that!
i think it’s hard to choose just one season, especially here in PA where we get to experience all four seasons. so i’ll go favorite to least favorite: 1.Autumn, for the changing of the leaves 2.Spring, Daffodils (my favorite flower) 3.Winter, snow covered trees 4. Summer, popsicles and the heat (i’m pretty cold-blooded). would so love to have one of your books.
I love Christmas and all the good food that comes with it – peppermint bark, buckeyes, candy canes, etc etc
I love any & all holidays including birthdays. I love a reason to have a day out of the norm & celebrate in even the smallest ways: decorate, surprises, crafts, or an outing. I don’t usually do anything huge, just small & simple to make life fun.
Thanks for a chance at a great giveaway!
So, in our family, we have lots of fun traditions, but my favorite is New Year’s Eve. We start with a chocolate fountain around 6pm, and just keep it going all night for the kids to come and go whenever. We then have all the kids pick a favorite game, and we play it as a family, (or a pair if that’s the game.) My favorite game is Phase 10, because it teaches the kids about colors and numbers, and it involves the whole family. Thank you!
My favorite season and the only one I like is summer, my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because everyone should be thankful for what they have and not for what they want (except for these cookbooks!). And my favorite tradition is our family reunions.
Summer is my favourite season hands down. Winter can be long here in Canada so when it’s warm enough for t-shirts, BBQ’s and slip ‘n Slides I am all for it!
Summer is my favorite! Lots of free time and fun time with the kids!
I love whatever season we are coming up on. That means its currently SPRING. I can’t wait for the warmer weather (and sunshine) to melt the snow and the daffodils and tulips to pop out of the ground!
It is a tie between fall and summer for me!
I love summer. The beaches and warm weather. It is a fun way to have our teenagers hang out with us.
Summer is my favorite season. I live in the Northwest and Summer is only a few months long. We get a lot of rain so I really look forward to the warmer months. Great Giveaway!
Fall is my favorite season. I absolutely love the color changes in the leaves! Plus we are still harvesting a few things from the garden.
I love Memorial Day! Sunshine day with no school, what could be better?
Christmas is my favorite holiday, but after the long, cold winter looking forward to Spring.
My favorite season if Fall. Harvesting the garden, picking apples, going to the pumpkin patch, hot homemade soup, preparing for winter (which of course includes preparing for Christmas – decorations, cookies, gifts, dinner).
I love fall baking and anything with apples or pumpkin. And any occasion to make a cookie!!!
