Do you ever have those days where you feel like the universe is conspiring against you? Getting today’s post ready was painful and it was not happening. So…change of plans.
If you’ve just joined us in the last few months, about 2 years ago, we wrote a book.
And people liked it! Like…it became a national bestseller! So we wrote another one…
And that one became a national bestseller. Which was awesome.
Some other awesome things about our books?
-There is a picture for every recipe.
-It has a spiral binding on the inside so you can lay it flat while you’re cooking, but the spine is printed with the title, so you can find it when you need to.
-It has this adorable bookmark with a conversion chart on it.-Both books have a “rollover index” where you can look up recipes by ingredient. So if you buy a whole quart of buttermilk or a bunch of cilantro and you’re looking for a way to use them up, we’re your girls.
So since things were not going my way today, I’m having a bowl of ice cream and giving away 3 books to 3 lucky friends!
Here’s the deal:
-To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite season, holiday, or tradition.
-The giveaway runs from today, 3/6/13 until 3/13/13.
-We’ll pick 3 winners and notify them via the email address they use to enter the giveaway. Be sure to use an email address you check often and not the email address you use when you order something from Bath & Body Works because you know you’re going to get 10 advertisement emails a day.
-The winners will get to choose either Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen or Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites.
–The winner must respond within 48 hours of when we send the notification email. If we don’t hear from you, we will select another winner.
-If you want to forgo the whole contest thing, you can purchase the books from Amazon, Deseret Book, Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and many other bookstores. If you are unable to find it, any bookstore should be happy to order it for you.
Ready? Set? Go! I’m gonna go eat some ice cream and lick my sad corrupted memory card wounds…
My favorite holiday is actually Easter. I love peeps, jelly beans and chocolate bunnies! I also love that it is around my birthday every year! It is a favorite of my kids too, and I am happy to pass on the traditions to them!

My favorite season is Summer!! I am so ready for it!!
I love your website so much! My favorite time of year is summer as that is when we have our family reunion and get to spend time with family members who travel in for this special event every year! This year will be an extra special one as I will have completed chemotherapy for breast cancer and be able to spend special time with family as a cancer survivor! Thanks for sharing your wonderful recipes and ideas with me!
Fall ! Love the season, the food & the colors !
My favorite holiday is Christmas. I am okay with it snowing that one day only. After Christmas Day I am totally happy with any holiday that falls during the summer.
My favorite season is fall. I love the colors of the leaves as they change, the crisp feel to the air and all the wonderful fall produce such as squash and apples.
This post just flooded my mind with wonderful memories. I would have to single out Memorial Day as a favorite holiday. All my life it has been a day to get together with family and grill. But, it was always significant in the fact that my grandfather was a World War 1 Army member and my Dad was a World War 2 Marine. Both of them were able to return home after the war, but they pressed upon us to remember that so many gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we had the freedom to celebrate. Later in years, after my Dad passed away, I have had a wonderful step-dad come into my life who is a World War 2 Army Purple Heart Recipient. These men make Memorial Day a wonderful day to me. Thanks for the opportunity to share.
One of my favorite traditions…my son making crepes for us on Sunday nights. Yum!
My favorite season is spring where all the flowers are blooming beautifully and the weather is nice. I come from a tropical country so sunshine is a must!
Summer! No homework to oversee, relaxing evenings that don’t get dark too early, swimming . . .
I love spring and fall.
I love all the seasons, they each have their own special appeal! Since I have to pick one I guess it would be the fall. Crisp weather, scarecrows, apple picking and pies!
I love the FALL! Beautiful weather after a long summer and it’s sweater season! 🙂 I love the smells and the foods so much!
Fall is my favorite season. The gorgeous colors of the trees are hard to beat!
summer, summer, summer. and, i would LOVE one of your awesome cookbooks!!
My favorite season is Fall!
Favorite season is SUMMER! The watermelons and grapes I dream of since childhood and now that I’m a mom I immensely enjoy watching my daughter eat the fruits of summer. The evening in SoCal are so amazing too when the temperature drops and we sit out on the porch enjoy the cool breezes…HEAVEN!
My favorite time of the year is spring. The stress of the holidays is behind us. It starts getting warm but not too hot that you can’t enjoy time outside. Flowers start to bloom and the grass turns green again. You can open the windows and just enjoy the fresh air and everything seems new again. Love it!!
My favorite holiday is Christmas time! Like many other people, I enjoy the happiness that this season brings into my life. Christmas always involves my three favorite things: celebrating Christ’s birth, spending time with family, and eating exorbitant amounts of the most delicious food. What could bring greater happiness?
My favorite holiday is Christmas. I always give my grandchildren a Christmas bag of special food and snacks like their favorite sugared cereal, snack bars, root beer flavored milk from a local dairy, special flavors of pancake mix, real maple syrup, flavored honey sticks, etc.
