Do you ever have those days where you feel like the universe is conspiring against you? Getting today’s post ready was painful and it was not happening. So…change of plans.
If you’ve just joined us in the last few months, about 2 years ago, we wrote a book.
And people liked it! Like…it became a national bestseller! So we wrote another one…
And that one became a national bestseller. Which was awesome.
Some other awesome things about our books?
-There is a picture for every recipe.
-It has a spiral binding on the inside so you can lay it flat while you’re cooking, but the spine is printed with the title, so you can find it when you need to.
-It has this adorable bookmark with a conversion chart on it.-Both books have a “rollover index” where you can look up recipes by ingredient. So if you buy a whole quart of buttermilk or a bunch of cilantro and you’re looking for a way to use them up, we’re your girls.
So since things were not going my way today, I’m having a bowl of ice cream and giving away 3 books to 3 lucky friends!
Here’s the deal:
-To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite season, holiday, or tradition.
-The giveaway runs from today, 3/6/13 until 3/13/13.
-We’ll pick 3 winners and notify them via the email address they use to enter the giveaway. Be sure to use an email address you check often and not the email address you use when you order something from Bath & Body Works because you know you’re going to get 10 advertisement emails a day.
-The winners will get to choose either Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen or Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites.
–The winner must respond within 48 hours of when we send the notification email. If we don’t hear from you, we will select another winner.
-If you want to forgo the whole contest thing, you can purchase the books from Amazon, Deseret Book, Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and many other bookstores. If you are unable to find it, any bookstore should be happy to order it for you.
Ready? Set? Go! I’m gonna go eat some ice cream and lick my sad corrupted memory card wounds…
I love fall! Warm, sunny days but cooler nights.
Thanks for the chance to win this giveaway!
I absolutely LOVE your first book and would love to win your second. This post brought back a fun memory from 2 years ago when you released your first book. My mom and I won tickets and came and watched you girls cook at Orson Gygis on her birthday ( of course her present was your book!), and I used the book as part of the way that I let her know I was expecting my first baby- her first grandchild! Your book will always hold a special place in both our tummies and hearts. 🙂
I’m sorry you had a bad posting day, Kate. I hope your ice cream helped you to feel better. I don’t really need to win the free book as I already have nine extra copies on my storage shelf, but to answer your question, my favorite season is fall because of the return to baking after having the oven off all summer!
My favorite season by far is spring. I love the beauty in the newness of life as it pokes it’s head through the ground. I love giving up the clouds to more warmth and sunshine. :o)
Thanks for offering another awesome giveaway.
Jackie
I love spring and Easter but food-wise, my favorite season is autumn. Bring on the PUMPKIN flavored everything!
SUMMER! Love EVERYTHING about it! 🙂
I love Thanksgiving — the opportunity to focus on gratitude, have good food and then relax.
My favorite season is fall, because I’m obsessed with Thanksgiving!
My favorite season is SPRING!!! I’m so glad winter is almost over! 🙂
So I am super excited about Easter this year! We are going to visit my parents in California. You see my dad used to hide our Easter baskets and he would purposely hide them hard so that he could make up riddles and clues to give us hints when we couldn’t find them after an hour. I love remembering my dad making up goofy riddles! So this year when we go to visit them, I am going to let him hide my kid’s baskets to give him that joy again.
My favorite tradition has become when I get to go home to visit my family for the holidays, namely my twin brothers. We all go to school in different states now, but when we come home for the holidays, the three of us get together in the kitchen and make a HUGE meal for our family, and we have an annual Christmas Cookie Bake-Off and let our family members pick the best cookie recipe. I know this is a long comment, but I wanted to thank you BOTH for sharing your wonderful projects with all of us. Particularly the Peppermint Meltaway Cookies that won me 1st place in the Cookie Bake-Off this year. You’ve made my visits home even more fun and DELICIOUS! ; )
I love Christmas!!!
I love Christmas, and Thanksgiving is right behind it!
I love spring! It’s all fresh and new. The birds are returning with their happy songs, the snow is hopefully stopping, and once again I can get outside and play in the dirt!
Can’t beat the fall with all those yummy pumpkin recipes! I think I’ve tried them all. My favorite tradition is making Abelskivers for my kids birthday breakfasts.
I love Winter! Cause it’s really nice weather in AZ. Our Summer is not so great 🙂 too hot for me!
My favorite season is the spring because we start getting outside more. After being cooped up indoors, there’s nothing better than a new season to get you some sunshine!
HAH! That’s easy!! FAMILY season, FAMILY holiday, and FAMILY traditions. As long as I’ve got a little or a lotta family around, I’m a happy gal. Throw in a grandchild or two…I get downright GIDDY! FAMILY = happy sighs 😀
My favorite season is Fall because I love cooler weather and pumpkin spice baked goods!
Spring is the best after a long winter. I love seeing all the plants wake up and I love planting my new gardens and flowers.
My favorite season is summer. I love summer recipes and would love your cookbook.
I love winter! Making snowmen, hot chocolate, having friends and family over. It is always a wonderful season. My husband’s family enjoys making tamales and we have started this tradition as well.
My favorite season is spring! My name is Apryl, and my parents named me after the month because that is when the world comes back to life. I guess it’s kind of ingrained. 🙂
I LOVE spring. It just brings on a sense of renewal. Yucky winter is gone and everything is coming into bloom. It helps to bring up my spirits from the boring winter time and allow for creative juices to start flowing.
My favorite holiday is Memorial Day. It’s the anniversary of the day I met my husband, and the start of the summer season, which is my favorite. It means all the things I love to do – pay tribute to our troops and my family members that have passed on while teaching the young ones what it’s all about – a family history lesson, if you will, and a picnic with my favorite summer foods. It’s a family day, and those are the best days of all.
My favorite season is Fall and I enjoy the traditional Fall foods. But my favorite holiday is Christmas! I enjoy trying new recipes for gathering with friends and family!
My favorite holiday is, well, all of them! There are things I love about them all. My favorite season is DEFINITELY Spring. I love all the new, fresh foliage, longer days, and fresh, crisp morning air…ahhh.
My favorite season is spring…..everything is new & warm & all of the beautiful flowers are blooming.
Love this giveaway! My favorite season is fall-love the cooler weather, warm soups, light layers, and boots!
My favorite holiday is Christmas!
