Do you ever have those days where you feel like the universe is conspiring against you? Getting today’s post ready was painful and it was not happening. So…change of plans.
If you’ve just joined us in the last few months, about 2 years ago, we wrote a book.
And people liked it! Like…it became a national bestseller! So we wrote another one…
And that one became a national bestseller. Which was awesome.
Some other awesome things about our books?
-There is a picture for every recipe.
-It has a spiral binding on the inside so you can lay it flat while you’re cooking, but the spine is printed with the title, so you can find it when you need to.
-It has this adorable bookmark with a conversion chart on it.-Both books have a “rollover index” where you can look up recipes by ingredient. So if you buy a whole quart of buttermilk or a bunch of cilantro and you’re looking for a way to use them up, we’re your girls.
So since things were not going my way today, I’m having a bowl of ice cream and giving away 3 books to 3 lucky friends!
Here’s the deal:
-To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite season, holiday, or tradition.
-The giveaway runs from today, 3/6/13 until 3/13/13.
-We’ll pick 3 winners and notify them via the email address they use to enter the giveaway. Be sure to use an email address you check often and not the email address you use when you order something from Bath & Body Works because you know you’re going to get 10 advertisement emails a day.
-The winners will get to choose either Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen or Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites.
–The winner must respond within 48 hours of when we send the notification email. If we don’t hear from you, we will select another winner.
-If you want to forgo the whole contest thing, you can purchase the books from Amazon, Deseret Book, Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and many other bookstores. If you are unable to find it, any bookstore should be happy to order it for you.
Ready? Set? Go! I’m gonna go eat some ice cream and lick my sad corrupted memory card wounds…
Definitely fall, love sitting with the family around the warm fire pit on a cool evening.
I love Fall! Perfect weather. Best kind of food. And my birthday! 🙂
I love autumn, with the crisp air and colorful leaves and end of the blazing desert heat!
Christmas! I love everything about the season…. The meaning, the songs, the decorations, shopping!
I just love the fall. When the peaches and apples are ready to harvest I get excited because it is almost sweater weather. Time for caramel apples, dinner in a pumpkin and Haloween. Fall is the beginning of the holiday season.
I love to bake cookies while it is snowing outside my kitchen window!
My favorite holiday is Christmas!!
I love fall because of the crisp cool weather and gorgeous Utah scenery, but there is also something amazing during the holiday season (Nov-Dec) that I just get so excited about!
I also love summer and would love one of your cookbooks, you all do the most awesome things..
Man I love all holidays, but I do think Halloween is my favorite. Followed as a CLOSE second by April Fools Day!
Give me a sweaty, hot Louisiana summer any day of the week. Snoballs, sand, swimming pools and BBQ! Oh, and some watermelon! I do love spring and fall too…but love me some bathing suit weather!
My Favorite season is Fall in southern NM…Great temperatures, Halloween open house with homemade chicken noodle soup, donuts and root beer!
I love the winter, thanksgiving (here it’s winter for turkey day!!), christmas, pumpkin & everyone’s favorite recipes. YUM
I love fall, the weather, the baking, soups and stews!!
Favorite season by far is fall. Summers in north Texas are scorching hot, so it’s a nice welcome for cooler weather. I love the changing colors, the leaves falling, the start of warm comfort foods. Can it be fall all year?
I love spring! Maybe it’s because it’s when I was born, but I’ve always felt a connection to springtime. I love how the earth is re-blooming and coming to life again after a long, cold winter. 🙂

Favorite year-long tradition: celebrating each season and holiday with special food as a family:)
I love fall. The apple pies. The crisp weather. Walks. Cuddling under a homemade quilt.
Spring! When all the world comes to life after a long cold winter. Green Grass, flower blooming, working the soil for a vegtable garden and funnest of all.. the baby animials. The world is anew and beautiful.
I love summer and the 4th of July.
I absolutely love holiday cooking and baking! I have tried to establish baking traditions for each holiday throughout the year to add a little something special for my husband and girls. My mom ALWAYS made cut out cookies for each holiday using an array of cookie cutter shapes, so I’ve carried on this tradition and added a few of my own. I would say Thanksgiving is one of my faves where I love to bake pies and decorate the tops & crusts with fancy details.
can I answer all three???
My favorite season is Spring…not too hot, not too cold and all the new flowers and blue skies
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving…the best part of Christmas (food LOL) without the pressure of gift giving
My favorite tradition…OK…maybe I can’t answer that one…hmmmmmmmmmmm
I LOVE Summer and Fourth of July!!
My favorite season is summer! I’m a sun lover!
I love the Christmas season. One of my favorite traditions from my childhood was acting out the nativity with our family and friends. The event was BYOB (bring your own bathrobe) and everyone had a blast. I hope to carry on the same tradition when we have a family.
My favorite season by far is summer can’t beat the hot sun with a big bowl of my favorite southwest pasta salad and a huge glass of Brazilian lemonade over ice! Love our best bites!!!
My favorite holiday is Christmas time, and my fiance always makes fun of how much I put into decorations and how perfect it all has to be. But my favorite season is fall and the changing leaves 🙂
We have a fun family tradition for Valentines. We do a mixed up Valentine dinner….My husband and I are the waiters…Each child gets a mixed up menu….they order and we serve their meal. this year was great because our 12 year old got a fork, knife, and napkin for his first course while the 8 year old got 2 desserts!!! Our children love it and so do I! Thanks! Shannon Jones
Awww…I feel your winter blues. My favorite season is fall…just a bit of crispness in the air and knowing that chilly football games and big pots of stew are on the way. But my favorite holiday is definitely Easter. The reminder of the Resurrection…that the little Baby that was born on Christmas rose from the tomb and defeated Satan once and for all. Such peace.
I love Thanksgiving. All the warm food, warm feelings and love!
