Do you ever have those days where you feel like the universe is conspiring against you? Getting today’s post ready was painful and it was not happening. So…change of plans.
If you’ve just joined us in the last few months, about 2 years ago, we wrote a book.
And people liked it! Like…it became a national bestseller! So we wrote another one…
And that one became a national bestseller. Which was awesome.
Some other awesome things about our books?
-There is a picture for every recipe.
-It has a spiral binding on the inside so you can lay it flat while you’re cooking, but the spine is printed with the title, so you can find it when you need to.
-It has this adorable bookmark with a conversion chart on it.-Both books have a “rollover index” where you can look up recipes by ingredient. So if you buy a whole quart of buttermilk or a bunch of cilantro and you’re looking for a way to use them up, we’re your girls.
So since things were not going my way today, I’m having a bowl of ice cream and giving away 3 books to 3 lucky friends!
Here’s the deal:
-To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite season, holiday, or tradition.
-The giveaway runs from today, 3/6/13 until 3/13/13.
-We’ll pick 3 winners and notify them via the email address they use to enter the giveaway. Be sure to use an email address you check often and not the email address you use when you order something from Bath & Body Works because you know you’re going to get 10 advertisement emails a day.
-The winners will get to choose either Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen or Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites.
–The winner must respond within 48 hours of when we send the notification email. If we don’t hear from you, we will select another winner.
-If you want to forgo the whole contest thing, you can purchase the books from Amazon, Deseret Book, Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and many other bookstores. If you are unable to find it, any bookstore should be happy to order it for you.
Ready? Set? Go! I’m gonna go eat some ice cream and lick my sad corrupted memory card wounds…
My favorite holiday is Christmas without a doubt, however my favorite season is most definitely summer!
My favorite holiday is Christmas. The anticipation for presents and family time is awesome.
I would have to say summer. I love the changing seasons, but there is nothing like cookouts, camping, swimming, time with family and sunshine!
My favorite season is Fall but my favorite holiday is Christmas!!
My father in law tells the story of him and his father sitting outside with a bucket of ice cream and two spoons. We have since done this many times with individual children. This is a great tradition.
My favorite season is when it gets cold here in Florida (Which is very rare!) I love to snuggle on the couch with a blanket eating soup
I LOVE Summertime- mosquitos and all- well maybe not the mosquitos, but after a long cold hibernation in snowy minnesota I feel like the cities and the people really come alive. I see my friends more for impromptu bbqs and bike rides and happy hour on the patio! Love!
Spring, for the perfect weather.
I love spring when all of the flowers start to bloom.
Favorite season is tough, either spring or fall. Both show change and that something new is coming. My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, it is what it is, and isn’t totally commercialized. It’s family and spending time together, a pause from every day. But my favorite tradition is reading on Christmas Eve. My family reads from Luke, ‘The Night Before Christmas’, and ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ every year. My grandmother started this years ago and still has the newspaper clippings of ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’.
My favorite season is summer! Warmth, parties outside, sweet fruit galore… loveliness!
My favorite season is fall. The cool crisp air, the warm spiced apple cider, caramel apples, the fun of halloween, and the amazing food at Thanksgiving! That’s my favorite!
We love to hike as a family so we love summer and fall. Love first seeing all the lush green and then beautiful fall colors.
My favorit season is summer! BBQ’s, picnics, friends and family, hiking Mt. Rainier, wildlife sanctuaries, going to the ocean…I love it all!! And I’m so blessed to be able to spend it all with my husband! We also have a tradition on our anniversary where we go out to eat, come home, and dance to our wedding song (Frankie Valli’s “Can’t Take my Eyes Off Of You”).
I love Spring because everything seems bright and happy after a long Winter!!
I love Christmas time!
My favorite season is spring, I love planting flowers and watching the world turn green.
I am in heaven on those gray and gloomy fall/winter days when it might or might not be snowing or raining but everything is just gray. I always make something wonderful for dinner…something that will warm our tummies AND make the house smell delicious.
I love fall! The weather is beautiful, the air is crisp, and with all of the holidays (plus birthdays!) it is full of family. There simply isn’t anything better.
My favorite time if year is Winter. I looooove making soup!
I love the 4th of July!!!!!
My favorite season is the one where I win a cookbook! 🙂 Seriously, I like them all — there are special things about every season.
OH! I hope I win a cookbook! My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving – all of my favorite foods with none of the Christmas gift-giving pressure.
I like Easter, new plants to cook, all those eggs to hide.
While I love parts of every season (snow in winter, swimming in summer, beautiful leaves in fall) I think my favorite is spring. After months of dead, brown branches and plants, it’s nice to see things emerging green and bright in the spring. The tempertaure is also great for one of my favorite activites, hiking!
I love summer. Cooking out on the grill and ice tea!
Living in the northeast, I love the changing of seasons and whichever one is just around the corner the best. It’s like mother nature knows what we’re tired of and knows just what will make us feel better. Right now, I’m getting tired of the cold and the snow (which was glorious only two months ago) and I’m looking forward to the fresh smell of spring and mud and rain!
My favorite season is spring because that means that wedding season is quickly approaching. Bridal showers, bachelorettes and then the big day. I’m very lucky because I have a large group of girlfriends and for the past few years, weddings have kind of taken over our lives. 🙂 Good times.
It’s hard to choose a favorite season because what I love the most is the CHANGING of seasons. I get excited for each new season and I love the little things that celebrate the differences between the seasons. Holidays, traditions, and of course food! Right now Easter is my favorite because it’s coming next!
I love the CHANGE of each Season! It inspires me to change up my routine and find new recipes and this blog is perfect for that! Cannot wait for the first Spring vegetables!
