Do you ever have those days where you feel like the universe is conspiring against you? Getting today’s post ready was painful and it was not happening. So…change of plans.
If you’ve just joined us in the last few months, about 2 years ago, we wrote a book.
And people liked it! Like…it became a national bestseller! So we wrote another one…
And that one became a national bestseller. Which was awesome.
Some other awesome things about our books?
-There is a picture for every recipe.
-It has a spiral binding on the inside so you can lay it flat while you’re cooking, but the spine is printed with the title, so you can find it when you need to.
-It has this adorable bookmark with a conversion chart on it.-Both books have a “rollover index” where you can look up recipes by ingredient. So if you buy a whole quart of buttermilk or a bunch of cilantro and you’re looking for a way to use them up, we’re your girls.
So since things were not going my way today, I’m having a bowl of ice cream and giving away 3 books to 3 lucky friends!
Here’s the deal:
-To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite season, holiday, or tradition.
-The giveaway runs from today, 3/6/13 until 3/13/13.
-We’ll pick 3 winners and notify them via the email address they use to enter the giveaway. Be sure to use an email address you check often and not the email address you use when you order something from Bath & Body Works because you know you’re going to get 10 advertisement emails a day.
-The winners will get to choose either Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen or Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites.
–The winner must respond within 48 hours of when we send the notification email. If we don’t hear from you, we will select another winner.
-If you want to forgo the whole contest thing, you can purchase the books from Amazon, Deseret Book, Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and many other bookstores. If you are unable to find it, any bookstore should be happy to order it for you.
Ready? Set? Go! I’m gonna go eat some ice cream and lick my sad corrupted memory card wounds…
My favorite season is fall: beautiful leaves (everywhere but here in Florida), cool weather (everywhere but here in Florida), delicious food.
My favorite season is end of spring and summer, I love the weather then. I cant wait for it to warm up and take my little one on a walk.
Summer is hands down my favorite season. I love the warm weather and all of the grilled deliciousness that comes with it. 🙂
I love Fall and I love Thanksgiving. It doesn’t seem as hectic as Christmas can get, and I love all of the traditions with food, family and friends.
CHRISTMAS!! Christmas cookies.
First I have to say that I discovered your website yesterday and can’t say enough wonderful things about you both and what you’re doing here. So many things I want to try, and your writing is wonderful. I wish you both the very best and much success.
As for a tradition – every night before bed I ask my (now 4) son what he wants for breakfast the next morning. For a while now he’ll ask me in response, “are you going to work tomorrow?” If I say “yes,” he usually wants instant oatmeal (the one with dinosaur eggs in it). If I say “no,” he wants me to make him porridge – cream of wheat made how my grandmother used to make it for me – with milk and with a dusting of sugar (which melts – yum) and cinnamon on top, and then I surround it with cold milk so it looks like an island or volcano (and cools it off). His absolute favorite.
Spring is my favorite season, especially the blossoming trees and flowers – and yummy asparagus.
christmas is my favorite, favorite, favorite. BUT my husband is teaching me how much fun halloween can be
change
the time for growing green is gone
as cool creeps through the air
leaves all change and fade away
and the colors make us stop and stare
enjoy the crimson colors as they come
enjoy them as they fall beneath your feet
enjoy their every sounding crunch
as walking lovers talk as they meet
soaking in the last warm days
to remind us when the warmth is lost
that soon warm rays will return
and pierce the freezing winter frost
Fall is my favorite. I wrote a poem about it. Enjoy.
p.s. the 13th is my and my husbands anniversary 😉
My family moved to the great state of Arizona less than a year ago. This place has so much to offer and wonderful weather all winter long. I’ve grown to really appreciate spring time because it’s mother nature’s precursor to summer. Most of the Arizona winter feels like spring and I am finding myself craving homemade lemonade, frozen lemon cookies, pasta salads with fresh tomatoes and a flip-flop tan line between my toes. Here’s to 80 degree weather in March! Thank you ladies for your recipes, keep ’em comin’.
I absolutely love the 4th of July! Best weather, food, and lots of festivals and friends. It is the epitome of summer!
Can’t decide between Spring and Fall. Love them both!!! Thanks for the chance to win your cookbook!!!
I would love to have my own cookbook from you guys! Savoring the season cookbook looks awesome. Just in time for when the weather gets warmer. Summer is my favorite season. 🙂
I saw this yesterday and thought I never win anything. So I went to Costco to buy it and it wasn’t there! Let’s hope I have better luck here, lol
Every Autumn I gather my family and we head to the hills for our annual “Dinner in the Canyon”. Over the years we’ve had a variety of out-of-town family and local friends join us. After everyone gets bundled up, we load up the truck and begin our adventure. My husband makes a tasty Dutch oven dinner of potatoes and onions and sausage. We sip hot cider and munch on fresh glazed doughnuts. Sometimes we take buckets and go berry picking while we wait for dinner. The kids chase each other around the camp area and climb the nearby giant rocks while the teenagers giggle and tease each other. The best part is the uninterrupted hours of visiting and laughing and reminiscing. When it gets dark and chilly it’s time to break out the makings for s’mores. Everyone warms themselves by the fire and roasts marshmallows. We’ve been doing this for over a decade now. It’s a tradition everyone enjoys and looks forward to and will hopefully be something we’ll still be doing years from now.
I love summer and fall!
There is something great about changing seasons. Right about the time I’m tired of one a new and wonderful season comes along!
I love the summer! I love that the kiddos are out of school and there are TONS of things to do. And I love that my husband is a teacher so he has summers off too…kind of.
St. Patrick’s Day is one of my favorite holidays, dressing in green, corned beef & potatoes!
My favorite season these days is summer.
My favorite season is Summer! I love being in the sun and soaking up my Vitamin D!
They’re all great for their own reasons, but if I HAD to choose a favorite, I’d go with Spring. I love new beginnings and the hope of the year starting again.
Fall! I love the cooling off from the hot Texas summer, and knowing that in the coming months I’ll get to enjoy tons of fantastic food with my family and friends!
We have a tradition of making Armenian bureks as a family every year on Thanksgiving. A bit labor intensive, but with a lot of love!
Spring by far. I love it when winter ends.
I love Spring! I love it when the snow starts to melt and the little tiny leaves on my flower bulbs start to peak out of the snow and dirt!
I love spring, especially when it rains!
I love both spring and fall. I love spring when everything comes alive and we have sun with clear air. I love the feel of fall with it’s color changes and cooler days after a hot summer.
Definitely fall. Leaves. Cool. Musty. Sweaters.
Spring– So looking forward to warm days and sunshine!!
