Do you ever have those days where you feel like the universe is conspiring against you? Getting today’s post ready was painful and it was not happening. So…change of plans.
If you’ve just joined us in the last few months, about 2 years ago, we wrote a book.
And people liked it! Like…it became a national bestseller! So we wrote another one…
And that one became a national bestseller. Which was awesome.
Some other awesome things about our books?
-There is a picture for every recipe.
-It has a spiral binding on the inside so you can lay it flat while you’re cooking, but the spine is printed with the title, so you can find it when you need to.
-It has this adorable bookmark with a conversion chart on it.-Both books have a “rollover index” where you can look up recipes by ingredient. So if you buy a whole quart of buttermilk or a bunch of cilantro and you’re looking for a way to use them up, we’re your girls.
So since things were not going my way today, I’m having a bowl of ice cream and giving away 3 books to 3 lucky friends!
Here’s the deal:
-To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite season, holiday, or tradition.
-The giveaway runs from today, 3/6/13 until 3/13/13.
-We’ll pick 3 winners and notify them via the email address they use to enter the giveaway. Be sure to use an email address you check often and not the email address you use when you order something from Bath & Body Works because you know you’re going to get 10 advertisement emails a day.
-The winners will get to choose either Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen or Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites.
–The winner must respond within 48 hours of when we send the notification email. If we don’t hear from you, we will select another winner.
-If you want to forgo the whole contest thing, you can purchase the books from Amazon, Deseret Book, Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and many other bookstores. If you are unable to find it, any bookstore should be happy to order it for you.
Ready? Set? Go! I’m gonna go eat some ice cream and lick my sad corrupted memory card wounds…
My favorite holiday is Halloween! I celebrate all month starting Oct 1st. I love the fall colors in the trees, the chilly sweater days, and seeing my son dress up in superhero costumes every single day.
i love the fall time….just getting in to the chilly weather and all the holidays!
My favorite holiday tradition is going to my husband’s uncle’s house on a lake to see fireworks for the 4th of July. Being far from “home” we aren’t able to go much anymore but whenever we can make it we do. In 2011 we showed up as a surprise and saw family for the first time in over a year.
I love which ever holiday is coming up, as it is sooo very fun to follow family traditions and try out new ones on our every growing family. Have some ideas for ‘green’ foods for Sunday, St Patty’s Day, and can’t wait to try some new recipes for Easter. 🙂
Is Birthdays a valid answer? We love birthday’s around our house, they are all through the year and we love celebrating special people in house. It feels like a holiday to me. 🙂
I think I love the Christmas season the best. But you almost can’t beat fall baking! I get so excited when fall comes around! 🙂
I like “the holiday season.” My birthday’s in October, so it really feels like it kicks off three months of food, fun, and goofing around.
I love all the holidays and try to make sure each one is super special. Holidays aren’t quite as fun when you grow up so I try to make sure each one is fun while my kidos are young. Right now I’m gearing up for St. Patricks Day. Ireland is a very important part of my family. So it’s a great holiday for us. The leprechauns come and do all sorts of mischief the night before. They turn the milk green, mess up toys, tip things over, etc. While they are causing all this trouble, they leave green treats and clues for the kids to find. My kids have handmade tartan sweaters from Ireland and wear traditional Irish badges. It’s great!
I had a quilting customer come in and rave about your book. She said she has a picky daughter and has always had to fix her a seperate dinner. She said finally we can all eat the same things and they are so good. She was a walking add for you. Way to go. I would love to try some.
I love winter! Tons of holidays to celebrate and it’s the only time that the temperature in Florida drops below 80.
SUMMERTIME !!! Cookouts, family time, camping, days at the lake, 4th of July… I can’t get enough! I cry every time the snow starts to fall. I am definitely ready for some warmer temps!
I love summer with all the grilling and delicious summer fruits and veggies from the farms.
Love me some summer time! Mostly because I LOVE the sun!! But Christmas makes winter worth going through because I LOVE Christmas!! Hope I win!!
Here on the Oregon coast, I love the fall!
Fall. Even though I know that means Winter is around the corner, I still love the fresh crisp air and the beautiful leaves, farmers out harvesting and plowing the fields….
I love summer, mostly because of the warmth! I hope I get a cookbook, they look great!
My favorite season is Spring because I love the splash of color that only spring flowers can bring into my day. It’s warm enough to enjoy the outdoors, but not hot enough to have my family and I getting under each others skin :). I just love the special buzz I feel that only occurs from March to May.
My favorite season is spring. Time to open the windows and freshen up the house. I’m hoping that spring will really come because it sure seems like winter is hanging around for a long time in Cache Valley this year.
My favorite tradition in my house is our birthday tradition! When a birthday comes around, that person gets to choose what is for dinner and what he or she wants for the dessert or cake! I love getting to pick my favorite home cooked meals!
My favorite holidays are Christmas or Easter…Christmas is so busy but I love to celebrate the season for months beforehand and Easter is wonderful because it is a lower stress level than Christmas and everything feels new and refreshed!
I love birthdays! It’s the one day a year that belongs to you. I make birthday celebrations big!
I love Christmas! The decorations, the food, and the reason.
I love christmas. My birthday is the 16, but my favourite season is fall. Love the colors, and most of all the pumpkin desserts and recipes.
I love Christmas time the best. It’s the families, the food, the games, the general togetherness.
my favorite holiday celebration of the year is Thanksgiving. We had such awesome Thanksgivings with our family when I was a little girl and I have tried to keep the traditions going with my own family and extended family.
I love Christmas baking and summer grilling!
Although it’s not in my favorite season, my favorite holiday is Christmas. By far the best food, treats, and of course lots of time with family.
It’s warming up enough to think of summer! I can’t wait!
My favorite season is at the end of the summer and starting the fall. I saw your cookbook at Wal Mart yesterday. I live in Texas, pretty cool it’s here.
My favorite season is fall. I love all the beautiful colors, crisp cool weather and eating warm, comforting soups. My favorite holiday would have to be Christmas because my family gets to be together.
p.s. I love your website!
