Do you ever have those days where you feel like the universe is conspiring against you? Getting today’s post ready was painful and it was not happening. So…change of plans.
If you’ve just joined us in the last few months, about 2 years ago, we wrote a book.
And people liked it! Like…it became a national bestseller! So we wrote another one…
And that one became a national bestseller. Which was awesome.
Some other awesome things about our books?
-There is a picture for every recipe.
-It has a spiral binding on the inside so you can lay it flat while you’re cooking, but the spine is printed with the title, so you can find it when you need to.
-It has this adorable bookmark with a conversion chart on it.-Both books have a “rollover index” where you can look up recipes by ingredient. So if you buy a whole quart of buttermilk or a bunch of cilantro and you’re looking for a way to use them up, we’re your girls.
So since things were not going my way today, I’m having a bowl of ice cream and giving away 3 books to 3 lucky friends!
Here’s the deal:
-To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite season, holiday, or tradition.
-The giveaway runs from today, 3/6/13 until 3/13/13.
-We’ll pick 3 winners and notify them via the email address they use to enter the giveaway. Be sure to use an email address you check often and not the email address you use when you order something from Bath & Body Works because you know you’re going to get 10 advertisement emails a day.
-The winners will get to choose either Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen or Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites.
–The winner must respond within 48 hours of when we send the notification email. If we don’t hear from you, we will select another winner.

Ready? Set? Go! I’m gonna go eat some ice cream and lick my sad corrupted memory card wounds…
Fall: Let the baking begin…….
I love fall but don’t love raking leaves. My favorite holiday is Christmas. We have to get dressed and have juice and toast. Then we have to line up according to age before going out to see what Santa brought us. This is a long time family tradition that I love. Also, we have our Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve and then you can snack on the leftovers on Christmas day (if there are any).
I love your cookbook. Gave it to my niece for her birthday last year. I would love to give it to another niece that loves to cook. Thanks for all of your great ideas and cooking tips.
would love the cookbook! favorite traditions always have food involved which is the best part!
Summer is my favorite!! I love the long days and playing outside till late, barbecues, campfires, and s’mores!
My mother-in-law has both books, and I have neither, and I think it is time to remedy that! What better way that to win one, and buy the other?!? Woop! I love summer! BBQ’s, watermelon anything, hanging out in the yard with music, food and family! Love!
I like ’em all and i would love to win a cookbook!
I don’t know if I can choose a favorite season, holiday, or tradition. The first one that comes to mind (because I’m reading a food blog) is the tradition of a certain treat my mom used to make at Christmas time. Similar to Eagle Brand Magic Bars but with mini marshmallows on top. Mmmmm. Anyway, my mom passed away when I was in college, and I have made them every year since then at Christmas. My kids love them and I always remember my mom when I eat them.
Sorry you had a bad day…hope it got better! My favorite season is spring, and I’m hoping it shows up in the near future.
I love all the seasons, but my favorite is fall because of the beautiful leaf colors and the crisp feeling in the air.
I’ve been in such a cooking rut lately, this will come in handy.
#1: SUMMER, because it IS.THE.BEST. & that’s how I roll. SPRING – for the hopeful green popping everywhere & clean air after a long dreary winter. FALL – for the deliciously crisp & sweet leafy aumtumny smells, warm days & cool nites. HOLIDAYS: lots of them – traditions? likewise :o)
Spring favorite season, Christmas favorite holiday, family vacations favorite traditions
My favorite time of year is the summer! I think of hot summer days on the beach with my family. Every year my entire extended family on my dads side get together and have barbecues on the beach, always ending with a good s’more and lately a woofum(a grands biscuit wrapped around a 1.5 inch diameter wooden dowel and cooked over the fire then stuffed wit goodies like nutella, jam, pie filling, etc. then topped with whipping cream!)It’s always great to have lots of good family around and lots of good food, especially on the beach. So excited the season’s coming soon!
You know, I don’t think I have a favorite season- each new one comes just as the current one is getting old and I’m ready for change. I love the crisp relief of autumn, the icy beauty of winter, the freshness of spring, the thrills of summer!
I love things about every season. I’m looking forward to warmer breezy days! Eating light and being out & about more.
My favorite season is Spring. Especially the upcoming Spring, because we are expecting our first baby girl!!
I love summertime! Full of fresh fruits and vegetables, swimming, vacations, family fun. best time of year!
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because it revolves around blessings and food and my family doesn’t do a traditional turkey dinner. We do Mexican BBQ!
I love all things fall, warm soups, breads, colors, kids pictures with leaves and garden finds! Warm snuggles by the fire with hot cocoa, think I will do that tonight with my kiddos. Love all your ideas!
My favorite season for food is summer. You get all your vegetables right out of your backyard or a local farm and can eat your meals all outside if you want to. Nothing is better than being outside!
I love the beginning of all four seasons. Right we you can sense that a change is going to happen and enjoying those first weeks of the new season are definitely my favorite. Making plans of what to do or how to prepare for the coming season, gets me energized and focused on the things that I want to do in the near future.
Christmas is my favorite holiday!
My favorite season is definitely fall. Love the colors, the cooler weather, trick-or-treaters, etc. Seriously hoping I win! Thanks for the chance!
My favorite season is fall. Mostly because in NM that means nice temperatures and weather with no wind. I also love pumpkin and other fall vegetables.
My favorite season is Spring. I love the perfect temps and seeing all of the flowers begin to bloom!
I live in New England and love, love, love the Fall! It is spectacular!
So hard to decide—-but I’ll go with the Christmas season and all the beautiful messages of the gospel! And cooking of course—love the food!
Generally speaking, my favorite season is spring because I love flowers and hate the cold. But when it concerns food, my favorite season is winter. Winter brings Thanksgiving and Christmas, and those two holidays alone bring about some of the best food that I get to eat all year. And I always “diet splurge” during those times because we all know that calories don’t count on holidays. 😉
I LOVE summer. Pool parties every day!!!!
I love the FALL and the spring. Because of the change in season it seems refreshing. Spring brings new life. But fall, there is a cool crispness in the air. The leaves are changing and turning a range of beautiful colors. Its like we are repainting the Midwest. You can hear the rustle of the fallen leaves, I love the fall. I remember this the most when I lived in MI.
