Do you ever have those days where you feel like the universe is conspiring against you? Getting today’s post ready was painful and it was not happening. So…change of plans.
If you’ve just joined us in the last few months, about 2 years ago, we wrote a book.
And people liked it! Like…it became a national bestseller! So we wrote another one…
And that one became a national bestseller. Which was awesome.
Some other awesome things about our books?
-There is a picture for every recipe.
-It has a spiral binding on the inside so you can lay it flat while you’re cooking, but the spine is printed with the title, so you can find it when you need to.
-It has this adorable bookmark with a conversion chart on it.-Both books have a “rollover index” where you can look up recipes by ingredient. So if you buy a whole quart of buttermilk or a bunch of cilantro and you’re looking for a way to use them up, we’re your girls.
So since things were not going my way today, I’m having a bowl of ice cream and giving away 3 books to 3 lucky friends!
Here’s the deal:
-To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite season, holiday, or tradition.
-The giveaway runs from today, 3/6/13 until 3/13/13.
-We’ll pick 3 winners and notify them via the email address they use to enter the giveaway. Be sure to use an email address you check often and not the email address you use when you order something from Bath & Body Works because you know you’re going to get 10 advertisement emails a day.
-The winners will get to choose either Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen or Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites.
–The winner must respond within 48 hours of when we send the notification email. If we don’t hear from you, we will select another winner.
-If you want to forgo the whole contest thing, you can purchase the books from Amazon, Deseret Book, Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and many other bookstores. If you are unable to find it, any bookstore should be happy to order it for you.
Ready? Set? Go! I’m gonna go eat some ice cream and lick my sad corrupted memory card wounds…
I LOVE SUMMER!
Definitely fall. Cardigans, leaves, pumpkins, Halloween, cool nights, scary movies, hot apple cider, boots, candy apples.
My favorite tradition has to be that we eat toasted cheese sandwiches and have chocolate milk for Christmas Eve dinner. It comes from my great grandmother who started it when things were a bit tougher and chocolate and cheese were not something that was kept on hand. My grandmother did it for her kids and then my dad did it for us. I have done it for my kids and they love hearing about where the tradition comes from. The tradition is in it’s 5th generation!
I love holidays! Christmas is my fav though!
Love your site & recipes! Favorite season: fall & spring. Favorite holiday: Easter & Christmas:) Keep up the great work:)
i love all the recipes I have tried, was a little disappointed when I purchased cook book the pages near the binding were stuck together, when taking them apart gently they still tore.
My favorite season is summer! I love the slower pace without the schedule of schools and I love the water–swimming, kayaking and generally being on the beach (well the Lake Tahoe beach anyway, not the ocean beach!) would love to have your book–just haven’t gotten around to buying it yet!
Spring is like the beginning of a new year, everything starting fresh. They don’t call it spring cleaning for nothing!
I love the fall! The changing leaves, the changing weather… all of it makes me tingle with excitement.
4th of July has become a favorite holiday in the past few years. I guess I’ve realized how lucky we are to celebrate our freedom. Also, it’s the peak of summer, we get together with friends and family, enjoy festive treats, and of course watch fireworks!
Fall! Still have tons of fresh veggies, it’s cool enough to actually do stuff, and the changing colors is just straight up fun!
My favorite tradition is Christmas morning with my husband and 3kids.I make jumbo cinnamon rolls with almonds the day before so they can slow rise overnight in the fridge. And my kids start talking about them around Thanksgiving. I make them all year when the mood strikes but the combo of Christmas and fresh baked rolls make them extra special. Christmas Day we spend all day in pjs, opening presents and our band of 5 eats way too many rolls. My favorite part is the fact that my kids embrace this tradition and demand it.
I love the Christmas season but summer is tons of fun too!
Spring! Time to shed the winter coats, go for walk with the sunshine on your face, flowers growing,…. Yep, I’m ready!
Being on Summer! Being a misplaced Texan in PA is the worst. I am SO OVER Winter. I love your recipes and site!
My favorite season is fall. I love the cool crispness in the air. Everything is refreshed and anew.
My favorite season is spring… it’s just so hopeful. 🙂
Wow, why was this such a big decision?!…because I despise decisions!! But summer it is with Fall in second place. I have really enjoyed your blog since it was introduced to me in the fall…thanks!
I love the summer! I am ready for summer nights spent grilling and in the company of good friends!
Fall is my favorite season. The weather is perfect, and pumpkin and apple treats are everywhere!
So I didn’t love so much the losing an hour of sleep thing, but I LOVE that the daylight will be sticking around for a little while now — it was such a beautiful day today where I live, absolutely perfect weather. I see the first beginnings of spring in a tree we have in our backyard — it’s always the last to lose leaves in the winter, and the first to bloom in spring. My favorite tree. 🙂
I love all the seasons because their is something to enjoy and savor is each one. I love spring because of the celebration of easter and new life and the chance to cook with fresh rhubarb, asparagus and strawberries (just not together), Summer because of the chance to be with my kids and cook with fresh garden veggies, I love fall and the crisp feel to the air and to bite into crisp apples, and winter because of the beautiful snow and the opportunity to try new soup recipes, and to sit by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate.
My favorite season has got to be fall – the temperature and weather are perfect, the foods in season are perfect, the trees are beautiful.
But my favorite tradition is Chinese New Year, because our whole family (grandparents included) actually celebrate it seriously. We gather together, bring food (always important) that’s traditionally chinese, and play cards together in the living room. Oh, and even grandma stays up late at night. It’s completely worth it.
Favorite season- definitely summer!
I love thanksgiving and Christmas because it is a time for giving and being thankful for everything that you have and everything that you and your family are blessed with.
My favorite season is summer and my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving 🙂
I love summertime! I’m a big fan of BBQs and spending all day by the pool; stuffing my face with awesome finger foods! Ah man… Is it June yet?? Thanks for the awesome recipes!
I love spring – the colors, the new plant life, and the promise of a bountiful summer garden.
I work for a client with disabilities who absolutely loves your books. He owns both and I help him cook something from them every couple weeks. I too have fallen in love the the recipes. AMAZING! My favorite holiday tradition has always been cooking sugar cookies with my family each Christmas, we always used to use this nativity cutter set my mother had, but they were misplaced during their last move, so this year we just invented our own shapes, and spent hours decorating them with sprinkles and frosting. It was so much fun, and although I want to find that nativity set again, I think we’ll continue to make up some shapes again for the fun of it!
My favorite season is spring. I love the tulips and the new life that comes with it
