Do you ever have those days where you feel like the universe is conspiring against you? Getting today’s post ready was painful and it was not happening. So…change of plans.
If you’ve just joined us in the last few months, about 2 years ago, we wrote a book.
And people liked it! Like…it became a national bestseller! So we wrote another one…
And that one became a national bestseller. Which was awesome.
Some other awesome things about our books?
-There is a picture for every recipe.
-It has a spiral binding on the inside so you can lay it flat while you’re cooking, but the spine is printed with the title, so you can find it when you need to.
-It has this adorable bookmark with a conversion chart on it.-Both books have a “rollover index” where you can look up recipes by ingredient. So if you buy a whole quart of buttermilk or a bunch of cilantro and you’re looking for a way to use them up, we’re your girls.
So since things were not going my way today, I’m having a bowl of ice cream and giving away 3 books to 3 lucky friends!
Here’s the deal:
-To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite season, holiday, or tradition.
-The giveaway runs from today, 3/6/13 until 3/13/13.
-We’ll pick 3 winners and notify them via the email address they use to enter the giveaway. Be sure to use an email address you check often and not the email address you use when you order something from Bath & Body Works because you know you’re going to get 10 advertisement emails a day.
-The winners will get to choose either Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen or Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites.
–The winner must respond within 48 hours of when we send the notification email. If we don’t hear from you, we will select another winner.
-If you want to forgo the whole contest thing, you can purchase the books from Amazon, Deseret Book, Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and many other bookstores. If you are unable to find it, any bookstore should be happy to order it for you.
Ready? Set? Go! I’m gonna go eat some ice cream and lick my sad corrupted memory card wounds…
Definitely summer is a favorite season. It cant come fast enough in the northeast!
My favorite season is summer!! I love being able to sleep in because the kids don’t have school and I love being hot instead of cold!
Favorite season – sping! It’s really the only time of year you get to enjoy bright spring colors in the deserts of the AZ valley, but when it happens, it’s beautiful! Favorite holiday – Christmas, hands down! I love watching the joy on the little one’s faces when they discover each new joy and wonder of the Christmas season. It keeps me young! 🙂
My favorite season…spring! Along with that – the Easter holiday!
I love spring with all the pretty flowers, tree blossoms and warmer days!
My favorite tradition is the day after Thanksgiving my family and I have a Pie Fest everyone brings a pie to the party. We spend the night playing games ,eating snacks ,and pie!
I love the fall! It’s so fun to pull out the sweaters and coats (although I’m starting to get sick of them right now) and carve pumpkins and drink hot chocolate. I love it!
I have a lot of things I like, but I love spring. It is wonderful to see everything come to life and start new. It is like life, we all go through hard times, but new life will come if we let it. Thank you for the chance to win.
I love fall the most (but that’s because I live somewhere that I don’t have to dread winter).
My favorite season is summer. What’s not to love about sunshine and warmth and long days?!
My favorite holiday is Christmas and my favorite tradition is putting up our Christmas tree. All of our ornaments have special meanings and stories – I cherish remembering people and times and places from the past.
My favorite holiday is Christmas – love to bake Christmas cookies for friends and co-workers.
I always say i love fall the best, but this year i am LOVING spring (or pre-spring i guess really) but after having a REAL winter in Boise this year, the beautiful spring weather and little plants starting to grow and spending time outside with my family this weekend is making me incredibly happy!

My favorite season is fall with spring being a close runner-up. I love all the recipes associated with fall, too.
I love the winter holidays. It all starts in November to prepare for all the festivites.I like to go above and bwyond for my students winter party ,I’m a elementary teacher, and do quite a few baking gifts tofellow coworkers. During my two weeks of vacation my house is filled with famoly and I love. to try new recepies and have my brother-in-law and god children try them (they are my most honest critics). Having them help me bake and make desserts is what makew this time of year so special.
My favorite holiday tradition, that we started a couple of years ago, is to bake and create gingerbread houses for Christmas. ( The recipe I currently use makes a very sturdy (ie hard as a rock) gingerbread) which lends itself well to our next part of the tradition…And either on Christmas or the day after we take them outside and let our 4 and 1 yr olds take a hammer to them and destroy them!! Can you guess I have boys 🙂
Thanks for all the tasty delights you have shared. My family lives your site!!
It’s a tie between summer andf all for me…summer evenings and fall days.
I LOVE all seasons, but right now I have two little boys that are WAY into St. Patty’s day and our leprechaun trap we set every night!
Fall is my favorite! Hot apple cider is always a great tradition…the smells of fall are instant memories to me.
I love spring – flowers are blooming, days are growing longer and warmer, and children are outside playing. It is a beautiful time of year!
Right now I just can’t wait for spring… warm breezes, blooming flowers and sunshine! 🙂
My absolute favorite season is Spring! I love coming out of the cold winter and enjoying the warm weather and new flowers.
I love fall, it’s not too cold yet but you can still enjoy all kinds of yummy comfort food!
Fall wins hands down. But I love almost all holidays… as long as I remember they are coming up & I’m not completely overwhelmed. 🙂
I love Fall!! I love transitioning into wearing boots and sweaters and scarves. I love the start of Football season. I love baking apple and pumpkin treats. My favorite Holiday is Christmas. It’s the one time a year I can count on seeing my family that lives 3,000 miles away.
My favorite holiday is definitely Christmas! I love all things Christmas–the winter weather, the decorations, the food, the gift-giving, and most of all the reason for the season, the birth of Jesus!
My favorite season is Spring because it brings warmer weather, pretty flowers, green everything, and (to me) represents a new beginning…but my favorite tradition is making Christmas cookies with my sisters (I have 3); every year we get together and have our ‘Cookie Baking Marathon’ when we make our favorite family fave cookies, and we always try a few new recipes as well.
I have a hard time picking a fav season, they’re so much to like about each of them… however 1 of our new favorite traditions is..the New Years tree!! I did the 1 like you had on the blog but for next year’s the kids come up with several different ideas.
I’d love to win one of those cookbooks! My favorites season has to be Fall…leaves, cooler weather, Halloween, Thanksgiving–it’s all good!
My favorite holiday is Christmas (even though I hate the cold). It’s the most magical holiday 🙂
