Do you ever have those days where you feel like the universe is conspiring against you? Getting today’s post ready was painful and it was not happening. So…change of plans.
If you’ve just joined us in the last few months, about 2 years ago, we wrote a book.
And people liked it! Like…it became a national bestseller! So we wrote another one…
And that one became a national bestseller. Which was awesome.
Some other awesome things about our books?
-There is a picture for every recipe.
-It has a spiral binding on the inside so you can lay it flat while you’re cooking, but the spine is printed with the title, so you can find it when you need to.
-It has this adorable bookmark with a conversion chart on it.-Both books have a “rollover index” where you can look up recipes by ingredient. So if you buy a whole quart of buttermilk or a bunch of cilantro and you’re looking for a way to use them up, we’re your girls.
So since things were not going my way today, I’m having a bowl of ice cream and giving away 3 books to 3 lucky friends!
Here’s the deal:
-To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us your favorite season, holiday, or tradition.
-The giveaway runs from today, 3/6/13 until 3/13/13.
-We’ll pick 3 winners and notify them via the email address they use to enter the giveaway. Be sure to use an email address you check often and not the email address you use when you order something from Bath & Body Works because you know you’re going to get 10 advertisement emails a day.
-The winners will get to choose either Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen or Savoring the Seasons with Our Best Bites.
–The winner must respond within 48 hours of when we send the notification email. If we don’t hear from you, we will select another winner.
-If you want to forgo the whole contest thing, you can purchase the books from Amazon, Deseret Book, Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart, and many other bookstores. If you are unable to find it, any bookstore should be happy to order it for you.
Ready? Set? Go! I’m gonna go eat some ice cream and lick my sad corrupted memory card wounds…
Summer!!! I love my kiddos being home. The food always seems better off the grill. Love fresh veggies from the garden. Eating outside-when the mosquitoes don’t carry you away.
I love spring…it is a new beginning with new life. Represented by Christ dying on the cross for us. I am starting a new beginning with healthier eating for myself and my adhd son. Thank you for your website.
Summer, obviously! And Christmas, but not winter. Very important distinction.
I love fall, but right now I might have to change it to spring because I want warm weather so bad!
My favorite holiday is Christmas! I love seeing the excitement on my kids’ eyes as they explore the new presents and see the lights out everywhere!
Whoa, big question. I think now that I have my daughter (an another on the way) I don’t really have a favorite holiday/tradition. I just really love seeing new things through her eyes and creating our own new little traditions as a family!
Thanksgiving! There is so much good food!
Almost all of your recipes make me very happy-I would love to win a cookbook! Spring is my favorite season-we get it in December down here in FL. 🙂
My favorite season is fall.
Fall is the best season of all! Love your first book. We cook out of it at least every other week!
My favorite tradition is family dinner together every night. We go over our ‘highs’ and ‘lows’ of the day. With 4 kids ages 4 and under, this is quite entertaining!
My favorite season is Spring because it’s full of such hope and promise.
Or maybe it’s because it’s forty degrees today….
Favourite season has to be Spring. I grew up in Tonga and now find myself, raising my family in Kansas City, MO. Sometimes the cold weather gets to me and I wonder why I left in the first place. However, when Spring rolls around, I always find myself grateful for the different seasons. Doubt I would be as appreciative of the greenery and new life around me without having gone through a winter season. 🙂 I love this blog AND your recipes!
My favorite season is autumn. I love the falling leaves, crisp cool weather, and the warm delicious foods. I could spend all day in a pumpkin patch and drink apple cider at the end of the day. Every year I go to Apple Hill where they have a festival with stands for purchases and crafting in every apple orchard. I look forward to autumn every year!
Favorite season for the weather would have to be spring, but there are little things I look forward to every season–like soups and pumpkin everything in the fall and the holidays in the winter.you LOVE both your cookbooks! I’ve been looking to get them for my mom as I keep telling her about different recipes.
My favorite season is winter. I love it when it snows (not very often where I live) and looking out the window. Everything looks so beautiful and clean. It is so calming to me.
My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love to bake anything with chocolate and I don’t feel guilty eating it during this time of year. I also enjoy cooking for my family during all of the holidays! I would love one of your cookbooks because that may help to motivate my husband to cook if he can see what the finished product will look like! LOL!
Summer, and making strawberry shortcake!
Spring!! I love when all of the flowers start to bloom and the warmer weather rolls in. Its still not too hot, but just warm enough to leave the jacket at home 🙂
I totally enjoy your down to earth site!! I love your recipes and ideas and of course your new kitchen, Sara! Would love to have one of your cookbooks!!
Our favorite Holiday is Christmas at our home, with our holiday meal on Christmas Eve. We recently started having it with just my husband and girls and added a few dishes as our own new traditions, including the Brazilian Lemonade from Our Best Bites! So thanks for the great recipe!
I love everything about Christmas, and Thanksgiving too.
I love everything about fall. I love the leaves bursting into glorious color and the smell of them burning. I love the cooler, crisp weather. I love the cinnamon and pumpkin smells coming from the kitchen. Just about everything about fall makes me smile!
Love your all’s recipes, would love to win a cookbook!!! My favorite season is summer. I love getting to come up with all kinds of ways to fix up all the stuff that comes from our garden!!
Hands down Christmas Eve. We do this Swedish dinner (with French and Cajun additions) that my family has done for several generations. Everyone looks forward to the Duup (pot roast with sausage), limpa bread to dip in the juice, cheeses, rye crisp, and Judy’s Jello Salad. We don’t know who Judy is, but we make her salad every year. Before we eat the rice pudding graced with one shaved almond for the recipient who gets good luck for a whole year, everyone at the table has to write and read a poem. “The rice is nice” is an acceptable offering.
I love your books and would love another.
Whatever season I am in, therein I am content–life is just so great that most of the time I can focus on what is wonderful around me. And when I am having a day like you were having when you started this giveaway, I take a deep breath…and cook something yummy!
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. I love being with my family
